Polestar 3 rear seat backrest brackets may be loose

On certain 2025 Polestar 3 vehicles, the metal catches that lock the rear seat backrest in its upright position may not be tightened down properly. If they are loose, the back of the rear seat can fall forward. That matters most in a crash: with the seatback down, luggage and other items in the cargo area can come flying into the passenger space and injure the people sitting there. A dealer will tighten the mounting nuts.

Polestar 2 rearview camera may not show in reverse

When you shift into reverse, the backup camera picture may not appear on the screen at all, leaving you without a view of what is behind the car. The fix is a free software update at the dealer. Polestar mailed owner letters on June 4, 2026. This recall replaces two earlier ones, so even if your car already had a camera software fix, it needs this new update too. Until it is done, turn and look behind you before backing up.

Polestar 3 front bumper piece may fall off

Some 2025 Polestar 3 SUVs left the factory with bolts missing from the front bumper's hood wing piece. Without those bolts holding it in place, that piece of bodywork can work loose and fall off the car while you're driving. A bumper part lying in a traffic lane is a hazard for you and for drivers behind you. Polestar dealers will check for missing screws and replace the bumper and screws if any are gone, at no cost.

Polestar 3 glass sunroof may come off while driving

The large glass sunroof over the cabin may not be fastened down properly. If what is holding it in place lets go, the whole glass panel can detach from the roof while you are driving. That leaves an opening above your head and sends a big piece of glass onto the road behind you, where it can strike another vehicle or force another driver to swerve. Polestar will replace the panoramic glass sunroof at no charge.

Polestar 3 water-damaged wiring can kill steering assist

Water can get into the electrical connectors that join the wiring in the engine bay to the wiring in the front bumper. Over time that water damages the connectors and the wiring harness. Damaged wiring can cause a range of electrical problems in the car, including loss of power steering assist, which makes the steering suddenly much heavier and harder to turn. Polestar will replace the bumper harness and the connector between the bumper and engine bay wiring.

Polestar 2 can lose braking while coasting downhill

In certain situations, while the car is coasting down a hill with "One Pedal Drive" switched on, the brakes can stop working. One Pedal Drive is the setting that slows the car down when you lift your foot off the accelerator instead of pressing the brake pedal. Polestar says owners should not use One Pedal Drive until the car has been fixed. The fix is a free software update sent to the car over the air.

Polestar 3 backup camera image may not appear

On certain Polestar 3 vehicles, the backup camera picture may fail to show on the dashboard screen when you shift into reverse. Instead of seeing what is behind the vehicle, you may get no image at all. Without that view, it is harder to notice a child, a pet, or an object behind you while backing up. Federal safety rules require the camera image to display, so these vehicles do not meet that rule.

Polestar 2 backup camera may show no image

When you shift a recalled Polestar 2 into reverse, the picture from the backup camera may not appear on the screen at all. With no image, you cannot see children, pets, or objects directly behind the car, which is exactly what the camera is required to show. Because of this, these cars do not meet the federal rear visibility rule. The fix is a software update at the dealer. Cars already repaired under the earlier recall 24V-477 still need this new update.

Polestar 3 may suddenly lose driving power

Certain 2025 Polestar 3 hybrid electric vehicles may have a damaged part that changes high-voltage power into the low-voltage power the car needs. Swings in the 12-volt electrical system can harm this part. When it is damaged, the car cannot move power around properly, and you can suddenly lose the ability to accelerate while driving. Polestar dealers will replace the part free of charge.

Polestar 2 driver airbag may deploy improperly

Certain 2024 Polestar 2 electric cars may have clamps that were not squeezed on correctly on one of the driver's side airbag units. Because of that, the airbag may not inflate the way it is supposed to. It is still there, but in a crash it may not do its job of cushioning the driver. Polestar dealers will replace that driver's side airbag unit at no cost to you.

Polestar 2 backup camera image may not appear

A software problem in the car's infotainment system — the large center screen — can stop the backup camera picture from showing up. Without that picture, you cannot see what is directly behind the car when reversing, which makes it easier to hit something or someone. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet the federal rear visibility rule. Polestar has already released a free software update that is sent to the car over the air, so no dealer visit is needed.

Polestar 2 front suspension joint may come apart

On some 2023 Polestar 2 vehicles, a joint in the front left suspension may have been put together incorrectly. That joint connects the lower suspension arm to the part that holds the front wheel and lets it steer. If it comes apart, you can lose the ability to steer the car. Dealers will inspect the joint and replace its bolt if needed, at no cost to you.

Polestar 2 can suddenly lose power while driving

A small computer that watches over the big battery can restart on its own. When it does, it cuts the connection to the battery pack, and the car stops sending power to the wheels. That can happen while you are driving, leaving you without the ability to speed up or keep moving in traffic. The fix is new software, which a dealer can load or the car can download by itself over the air.
