BMW 330i, 430i, 530i, X3: loose starter wiring can stall critical
The electrical connection between the starter-generator and the battery on these 2025 BMWs can come loose. A loose connection can cause the engine to stall while you are driving, which is dangerous in traffic. The same loose connection can also make the wiring overheat, which can start a fire. BMW mailed a warning letter on May 28, 2025, before the repair was ready, and a second letter goes out once it is. Dealers will inspect and replace the starter-generator and positive battery cable as needed.
