Ford Bronco Sport built with wrong front suspension arms

NHTSA campaign 21V074000 · Reported 2021-02-16 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

Wrong suspension parts can affect handling and raise the chance of a rollover crash, so have your vehicle inspected soon even though the notice does not say to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some of these SUVs were built with the wrong front lower control arms. Control arms are the parts that connect each front wheel to the body and keep the wheel pointed and positioned correctly. Because the wrong parts were installed, the vehicle may not steer or handle the way it should, especially in a sudden turn or swerve, and it could be more likely to tip over.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Bronco Sport is on the list. 2. Call a Ford dealer to schedule the inspection, or reach Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 21S03). 3. The dealer inspects and replaces the front lower control arms if needed, free of charge.
