Serious, because a wheel coming off can cause a crash, and the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so drive only as needed until the bolts are replaced.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2025 G580 electric SUVs left the factory with the wrong bolts holding the wheels on. The wrong bolts may not clamp the wheel tightly, so a wheel can work loose over time and, in the worst case, come off the vehicle while you are driving. There is nothing you can see or adjust yourself. Your dealer will replace all the wheel bolts with the correct ones at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your G580 is included (VINs have been searchable since April 2, 2026). 2. Call your Mercedes-Benz dealer, or MBUSA at 1-800-367-6372 (recall 2026040008), and ask for the earliest appointment. 3. Have the dealer replace the wheel bolts — the repair is free.

Summary: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2025 G580 vehicles. The incorrect wheel bolts may have been installed during vehicle manufacturing.
Safety risk: Incorrect wheel bolts can allow a wheel to loosen or detach from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the wheel bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2026. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2026040008. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on April 2, 2026.
