What's wrong, in plain English

A fastener on the high voltage battery may not have been tightened correctly. This can cause the vehicle to lose drive power while it is being driven. Rivian will inspect the connection and repair it, or replace any damaged parts, at no cost to the owner.

Summary
Rivian Automotive, LLC (Rivian) is recalling certain 2027 R2 vehicles. A high voltage battery fastener may have been improperly tightened, causing a loss of drive power.
Safety risk
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Rivian will inspect and repair the connection or replace damaged components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 28, 2026. Owners may contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4261. Rivian's number for this recall is FSAM-1888. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 28, 2026.
