Chevrolet Silverado medium duty brake sensor leak can cause fire critical

Reported 2025-06-12 · Campaign 25V390000 · Model years: 2019

A sensor that watches brake fluid pressure can leak fluid into the brake pressure switch next to it. The fluid can cause an electrical short that overheats the wiring, and that can start a fire — while you are driving or while the truck is just sitting parked. GM says park the truck outside and away from buildings until it is fixed. Dealers replace the wire harness for the switch. Trucks repaired under the earlier recall need this new fix too.

⚠ NHTSA advises: park outside and away from structures (fire risk).
