A wiring bundle for the sensor that reads fuel tank temperature may have been routed the wrong way at the factory. Run wrong, those wires can rub and get damaged, causing a short that blows the fuse for the fuel pump. With that fuse blown, the pump stops feeding fuel and the engine can quit while you are driving — including in traffic or at an intersection. A dealer will inspect the wiring and reroute it, or replace the fuel pump assembly if needed.
