If that happens while you are driving, the car can lose power to the wheels, and there is also a risk of fire. Ford's fix is a software update for the two computers that manage the battery and the hybrid system. Until it is done, Ford says to drive only in "Auto EV" mode and to limit how much you charge the battery.
