On these motorcycles the headlight can flicker or shut off completely while you are riding. If it goes dark at night or in bad weather, you lose the light you need to see the road ahead, and drivers around you lose an important clue that a motorcycle is there at all. Honda traced the problem to the headlight assembly itself, and dealers will install a new one at no cost. Owner letters went out in May 2025.
A small metal retaining ring inside the transmission can slip off the main shaft. Without it, the gears can slide out of position. Two things can go wrong. The bike can drop into gear by itself while you are starting the engine, causing it to lurch unexpectedly. Or the transmission and rear wheel can seize while you are riding. Dealers replace the transmission main shaft at no cost to you.
