Mercedes-Benz door lock switch may let vehicle roll away high

Reported 2026-07-24 · Campaign 26V481000 · Model years: 2025

A small switch inside the driver's door lock can corrode over time and stop sensing when the door is opened. That switch is what tells the car to set the electronic parking brake, or Auto-Park, automatically when you get out. If the switch fails, the parking brake may never come on, and the vehicle can roll away by itself after you step out. The dealer replaces the driver's door lock free of charge.
