Certain Mercedes-Benz vehicles have a micro-switch in the driver's door lock that can corrode. When this happens, the switch may fail to detect that the door is open, which can prevent the electronic parking brake's Auto-Park feature from engaging on its own. Without the parking brake engaging automatically, the vehicle may roll away on its own.
