Nissan Z Pop-Up Hood May Not Rise for Pedestrians medium

Reported 2024-10-24 · Campaign 24V798000 · Model years: 2023, 2024

These cars have sensors in the front bumper that detect when the car hits a person. When they go off, the back of the hood pops up to cushion the impact. On some of these cars, two plugs on the right side were connected the wrong way around, so the hood may not pop up when it should. That means a person struck by the car could be hurt worse. The dealer will replace the bumper wiring.

Nissan Z pop-up hood may not activate properly medium

Reported 2023-10-26 · Campaign 23V725000 · Model years: 2023, 2024

The Z has a hood that pops up at the back in a front-end crash with a person on foot, to cushion the impact. On these cars, the fasteners in a clip behind the left side of the front bumper can loosen. If they do, that safety feature may not activate when it should. The car still drives normally and you would probably never notice the loose fasteners, but a pedestrian struck by the car could be hurt worse.
