Porsche 911 with bucket seats: seat airbag may fire unnecessarily medium

Reported 2023-10-25 · Campaign 23V715000 · Model years: 2023

Cars ordered with the optional full bucket seats have an airbag built into the seat itself. On these cars, that seat airbag can go off during a crash when it was not supposed to. An airbag that fires when it should not can strike the person in the seat and cause injury on its own. The fix is a software change: the dealer reprograms the airbag control computer at no cost. Owner letters were mailed December 11, 2023.
