What's wrong, in plain English
During a crash, a structural bar may come loose from its bracket in the luggage compartment on affected Porsche vehicles, including the 718 Cayman. This could cause a fuel leak. Leaking fuel could lead to a fire if an ignition source is present. Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will secure the bar with additional rivets at no charge to owners.
What you should do
2. Contact a Porsche dealer to arrange service; Porsche customer service is available at 1-800-767-7243.
3. Have the dealer secure the structural bar with additional rivets. The repair is free.
