Porsche fuel leaks: which Macan, Cayenne and Panamera models are recalled?
All three of Porsche's gasoline fuel-system recalls end the same way — raw fuel escaping into the engine bay or under the car — and all three are rated critical. The oldest covers 2015-2018 Macan, where the fuel pump service cover can contact the flow nozzle on the filter flange, cracking it and leaking fuel. The second hits 2019-2020 Cayenne Turbo, 2020 Turbo Coupe and Turbo S Hybrid models, where a fuel line quick connector in the engine compartment may leak. The newest, filed September 2025, covers 2024-2026 Panamera and Cayenne plus the 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid: high-pressure fuel pump fasteners may not be tightened properly. Cayenne and Panamera appear most often, and every remedy is a leak repair, not a software update.
Warning signs to watch for
- A gasoline smell around the car, in the garage, or through the vents
- Fuel pooling or dripping under the vehicle
- Wet or damp fuel lines and connections in the engine compartment (Cayenne Turbo, Panamera, Cayenne)
- The notices describe no dashboard warning light — the smell of fuel is the main clue
Is it safe to keep driving?
None of the three recalls carries a formal stop-driving or park-outside order, and Porsche has not asked owners to leave these cars outdoors. That is not the same as routine, though. Each one is a fuel-leak defect with fire potential, and the notices tell owners to arrange the repair right away rather than wait for a convenient visit. The 2024-2026 Panamera and Cayenne notice goes furthest: if you smell gasoline or see fuel under the car, stop driving and call for help instead of continuing on to a dealer.
What the free repair involves
The work differs by recall. On the Macan, Porsche reworks or replaces the fuel pump flange and applies a protective film, inspecting the flange and replacing it if cracks are found. Cayenne Turbo models get a new fuel line and quick connector. On 2024-2026 Panamera and Cayenne, dealers inspect and tighten the screw connections and replace the high-pressure fuel pump and fuel lines as necessary. All free of charge.

Common questions
How do I know whether my Porsche is actually leaking fuel?
The notices point to the smell of gasoline and visible fuel under the car rather than any warning light. If you notice either, the 2025 Panamera and Cayenne notice says to stop driving and call for help rather than drive to the dealer.
Is it safe to park my recalled Porsche in the garage?
Porsche has not issued a park-outside instruction for any of these three recalls, so there is no official restriction on where you park. If you can smell fuel around the car, treat that as urgent, keep it out of enclosed spaces and contact Porsche immediately.
My Macan recall started back in 2020 — is the repair still free?
Yes. The notice states the remedy is performed free of charge, and no expiry is given. Call Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 with your VIN to confirm your car is included and whether the fuel pump flange work was already completed.
