NHTSA campaign 21V188000 · Reported 2021-03-18 · General Motors, LLC

high How serious is it? About this label

Losing drive power without warning raises the risk of a crash, so get this handled quickly even though the notice does not tell you to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2021 Chevrolet Camaros left the factory with a small retaining ring missing from the left or right axle shaft. That ring is what holds the shaft in place. Without it, the axle shaft can come apart while you are driving, and the car would suddenly stop sending power to the wheels. Dealers will replace the affected axle shaft free of charge. The recall started April 21, 2021, and Chevrolet has notified owners.
