BMW X4 rear license plate lights are positioned incorrectly
low How serious is it? About this label
The incorrectly positioned license plate lamp cutouts could cause confusion to other drivers on the road, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
On some 2022 X4 models, the openings for the rear license plate lamps are not positioned correctly, so the license plate is not lit properly. BMW says the misplaced lamp cutouts could confuse other drivers behind you about what they are seeing, which raises the chance of a crash. The car also does not meet the federal rule covering lamps and reflectors. A dealer will modify the rear license plate bracket so the lighting is right.
