Jeep Wagoneer center seat back may not lock

NHTSA campaign 21V919000 · Reported 2021-11-23 · Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

medium How serious is it? About this label

A seat back that is not locked into position can increase the risk of injury in a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles, the pull strap used to fold the second-row center seat can snag on the seat trim. When it sticks, the seat back may not click and lock into the upright position, even though it looks like it is up. A seat back that is not locked can move in a crash. Because of this, these vehicles do not meet the federal safety rule for seating systems. Dealers will inspect and replace the strap.
