A software error means the tire pressure system may not spot a low tire, and the low-pressure warning light on your dash may not come on when it should. You could drive on an underinflated tire without knowing, which makes the vehicle harder to control and raises the chance of a crash. The fix is a free software update at the dealer. Owner letters are expected to start going out September 29, 2026; until then, check your tire pressures yourself with a gauge.
The trim piece at the edge of the driver's and passenger's side windows may not have been fastened down properly at the factory. Over time it can work loose and detach from the vehicle. If it comes off while you're driving, it becomes a loose object in the road that another driver could hit or swerve to avoid. The dealer inspects the area and replaces the quarter window glass assembly if it's needed.
The decorative trim strips on the driver and passenger doors were not attached properly on some of these Jeeps, and they can work loose and fall off. A piece of trim lying in the road, or flying off at speed, is a hazard for the drivers behind you who have to swerve or run over it. Dealers will look at the door trim and replace it where it is needed, free of charge.

Certain 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models have incorrect software in the rearview camera. Because of it, the camera picture may not appear on the screen when you shift into reverse. Without that view, you cannot see what is directly behind the vehicle while backing up. This also means these vehicles do not meet the federal rear visibility rule. Dealers will reprogram the camera module with corrected software at no charge to you.

The radio software in these vehicles can keep the backup camera picture from appearing at all. When you shift into reverse, the screen may not show what is behind you, so you cannot see a child, a person, or an object in the vehicle's path while backing up. That makes it much easier to hit something you never saw. The repair is a software update for the radio, done at the dealer or sent to the vehicle wirelessly.

A part in the steering column may not have been welded correctly at the factory. That part carries the electrical signal to the driver's airbag in the steering wheel. If the weld is bad, the airbag may not inflate during a crash, so the driver would not get the protection it is supposed to give. A dealer will check the part and replace it if needed at no cost to you.
In the third row, the seat belt may be hard to reach or may not latch properly into its buckle. That means someone riding back there could end up with no belt on at all, either because they cannot get to it or because it will not click in. A passenger who is not belted is much more likely to be badly hurt in a crash. Dealers inspect the third-row buckles and replace them where needed, at no cost.
Certain Jeep Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles have a software problem in the module that runs the parking camera. Because of it, the backup camera picture may not show up on your screen when you shift into reverse. Without that view, it is harder to see people, children or objects behind you while backing up. In these Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, the interior trim on the upper part of the post between the front and rear doors may not be pushed fully into place. The side curtain airbag — the long airbag that drops down over the side windows in a crash — comes out from behind that trim. Loose trim can get in its way. If the airbag cannot open the way it should, people inside are less protected. Dealers reseat or replace the trim.

When it sticks, the seat back may not click and lock into the upright position, even though it looks like it is up. A seat back that is not locked can move in a crash. Because of this, these vehicles do not meet the federal safety rule for seating systems. Dealers will inspect and replace the strap.

The computer that controls the airbags may have been loaded with the wrong software. Because of that, the driver airbag, the front passenger airbag and the knee airbags can switch themselves off without any warning to you. If that happens, those airbags would not inflate in a crash, so the people in the front seats would not get the protection the vehicle is supposed to provide. A dealer can reload the correct software and fix the problem.
