Lincoln Aviator front headrest cushions can come off

NHTSA campaign 22V247000 · Reported 2022-04-14 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

Moderate risk — the notice says a detached cushion raises your chance of injury in a crash, but there is no warning to stop driving, so you can keep driving while you schedule the free repair.

What's wrong, in plain English

The padded cushion on the driver and front passenger headrest can come loose and fall off the headrest frame. This happens on power headrests that have been moved all the way forward. Ford has already mailed letters to owners about the problem, and a fix is available. A loose or missing headrest cushion means your head is not properly supported, which matters most in a crash. Dealers will replace both front headrests at no cost.
