Ford Maverick Hybrid gauges may not light up

NHTSA campaign 24V140000 · Reported 2024-02-23 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

Driving without a working speedometer or warning lights raises your crash risk; the notice does not tell you to park the vehicle, but schedule the free update right away.

What's wrong, in plain English

The display in front of the steering wheel on your Maverick Hybrid — the one showing your speed and the warning lights — may not light up the way it should. If it goes dark or leaves out a warning light, you will not know how fast you are going or that something is wrong with the vehicle. The truck also does not meet several federal safety rules because of this. The fix is a free software update at the dealer.

What you should do

Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your truck is included.
Call your Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 24C01), to schedule the software update.
Have the display software updated — the repair is free.
