Ford Maverick and Bronco Sport tires built incorrectly

NHTSA campaign 24V223000 · Reported 2024-03-22 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

Potentially serious, because a bad tire can cause a sudden loss of control; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but get the tires checked promptly.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some Ford Maverick and Bronco Sport vehicles left the factory with tires that were not made correctly. A tire built wrong can behave unpredictably on the road, and the driver may lose the ability to steer and control the vehicle. The notice does not describe any warning signs you would feel or see beforehand. A dealer will inspect the tires and replace any that are faulty, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed in April 2024.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is affected. 2. Contact your Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 24S20), for an inspection. 3. Have any faulty tires replaced — the inspection and replacement are free.
