Ford Bronco Sport and Maverick Windshield Wipers Can Quit

NHTSA campaign 24V594000 · Reported 2024-08-09 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

Inoperative windshield wipers can reduce visibility in certain conditions, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The electric motor that drives the front windshield wipers can stop working. If it fails, the wipers will not move at all. In rain, snow, or road spray you could suddenly be left looking through a wet, dirty windshield with no way to clear it. A Ford dealer will check the wiper motor and install a new one if it is needed, at no cost to you. Owner letters went out in December 2024.
