Losing drive power or your hazard lights without warning raises the risk of a crash, so this is serious; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but do not put the inspection off.

What's wrong, in plain English

The 12-volt battery is the regular car battery that runs the lights, radio and other electrical parts. On these trucks that battery can wear out and quit all at once. If it does, you can lose electrical items including your hazard flashers, or lose power to the wheels while driving. Dealers will check the battery and replace it if needed, free. Even if your vehicle was fixed under the earlier recall, it needs this new repair.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is covered. 2. Call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or your dealer with recall number 25S02, and mention it even if the earlier recall (24V-267) was already done. 3. Have the dealer inspect and, if needed, replace the 12-volt battery at no cost.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles. The 12-volt battery may experience degradation and suddenly fail.
Safety risk
Battery failure can result in a loss of electrical accessories, including the hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and if necessary, replace the 12-volt battery, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 2, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S02. Vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under 24V-267 and will need to have the new remedy completed.
