Ford Maverick may miss low battery, losing power

NHTSA campaign 25V127000 · Reported 2025-02-28 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

Serious — the truck can lose drive power while you are on the road, which could leave you stranded in traffic, so schedule the free fix promptly even though the notice does not tell you to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2022 Ford Mavericks repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall have computers that may not notice when the 12-volt battery is running low on charge. Without that warning, the truck can lose electrical items such as the hazard flashers, or it can lose power to the wheels while you are driving. Losing drive power in traffic, with no way to flash your hazards, is dangerous. Dealers will reload the correct control module software free of charge.
