Ford and Lincoln fuel pump failure can stall the engine

NHTSA campaign 25V455000 · Reported 2025-07-07 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

Losing engine power without warning while driving can lead to a crash, so schedule the free repair soon, though the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

On these Ford and Lincoln trucks, SUVs and Mustangs, the low-pressure fuel pump, which is the part that moves gasoline out of the tank, can fail. If it does, the engine can stall and shut off while you are driving. The repair depends on what you own: on Super Duty pickups the dealer replaces the fuel pump itself, and on all the other vehicles the dealer reprograms the engine computer. Either repair is free. Owner letters were mailed July 27, 2026.
