What's wrong, in plain English
On some Cadillac Optiq vehicles, the front power windows may not sense when something is in the way when they are closed using the key fob's express-up function. Instead of detecting the obstruction and reversing direction, the window can keep closing, which could pinch a passenger before it retracts. Because the windows don't reverse as expected in this situation, these vehicles do not meet a federal safety standard for power windows.

- Summary
- General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Cadillac OPTIQ vehicles. When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."

- Remedy
- The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026.
