Volkswagen Arteon brake booster rod may be installed wrong high

Reported 2020-03-06 · Campaign 20V135000 · Model years: 2019

A small rod inside the electronic brake booster — the part that helps your foot push the brakes — may have been installed incorrectly. It could take more force than normal to slow the car, or the rod could come loose from where it connects. Either way, Volkswagen says braking can be affected and the risk of a crash goes up. These cars also fail to meet the federal brake system standard. A dealer will correct the mounting or replace the booster.
