A dealer will reprogram the computer that controls the gauge so it shows the correct reading, at no charge to you.
An electrical control unit behind the dashboard may not start up properly when you turn the vehicle on. When that happens, several things can quit at once: the windshield defroster, the seat belt warning, the 360-degree camera view, and, on plug-in hybrid models, the cooling system for the high-voltage battery.
