Porsche Cayenne engine cylinder cracks can cause stall or fire critical

Reported 2021-05-12 · Campaign 21V341000 · Model years: 2021

Cracks can form on the inside surface of an engine cylinder, the polished bore a piston slides up and down in. Those cracks can damage the engine. Two things can follow: the engine can quit running while you are driving, or oil can leak out. Leaking oil onto a hot engine can start a fire, and a stall in traffic can cause a crash. The fix is not a small one - dealers replace the whole engine at no cost.

Porsche Cayenne missing seat part may disable passenger airbag high

Reported 2021-05-05 · Campaign 21V318000 · Model years: 2021

The front passenger seat in these Cayennes was built without a heating element in the seat back. That missing part can throw off the system that senses whether someone is sitting in the passenger seat and how big they are. Because the car may misjudge the passenger, the front passenger airbag may not go off in a crash. The seat otherwise looks and works normally, so there is no sign anything is missing.
