Mopar Floor Mats for Jeep Grand Cherokee Block Pedal

NHTSA campaign 18E097000 · Reported 2018-10-29 · Chrysler (FCA US LLC)

high How serious is it? About this label

A gas pedal held down by a mat is a serious hazard that can happen suddenly; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but the mat should be dealt with promptly.

What's wrong, in plain English

These are Mopar accessory floor mats, part numbers 6ML07TRMAA and 6GA92TRMAA, sold separately for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk models. The mat does not leave enough space around the gas pedal, so it can hold the pedal down and stop it from coming back to its normal resting position after you take your foot off. The vehicle could keep accelerating when you want it to slow. Your dealer will replace an affected mat at no charge.

What you should do

1. Check the part number on the underside of your mat, and look up your vehicle's VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
2. Contact your Jeep dealer or Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall UB5.
3. Have the affected mat replaced free of charge.
