What Jeep equipment recalls cover floor mats, labels, and cameras?
Jeep's equipment recalls split into two very different kinds. The urgent pair landed the same day in October 2018: the driver's floor mat in 2018 Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk models — and the matching Mopar accessory mats, part numbers 6ML07TRMAA and 6GA92TRMAA — can sit too close to the accelerator and keep the pedal from returning to idle. Separately, American Fastbacks recalled 2018 Wranglers sold with a roof top tent whose top cover can crack and detach while you drive. The rest are labels and screens: 2017-2018 Cherokees missing tire and rim information from the certification label, 2022-2023 Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L missing the dashboard airbag warning label, and 2021-2022 Grand Cherokee L and Grand Cherokee backup camera displays that could go blank.
Warning signs to watch for
- The accelerator pedal feels held down or does not return to idle on SRT and Trackhawk models
- A floor mat that sits high or crowds the pedals
- Cracking or damage to the roof top tent cover on a 2018 Wrangler
- No tire and rim size listed on the door certification label, or no airbag warning label on the dash
- The rearview camera image fails to appear on the center screen when you shift into reverse
Is it safe to keep driving?
None of these six recalls tells you to stop driving or park outside. The floor mat recalls are the ones to act on first, since a pedal that will not return to idle can happen suddenly — you can remove the affected mat while you wait. The roof top tent recall had no remedy developed when it was filed, so contact American Fastbacks about what to do in the meantime. The label and backup camera recalls involve nothing broken mechanically; use your owner's manual for tire sizes until the new label arrives.
What the free repair involves
Dealers replace the affected driver's floor mats, including the Mopar accessory mats, free of charge. Chrysler mails a corrected certification label and mails the airbag warning label information, with dealers installing labels on unsold vehicles. Dealers replaced the center stack upper display for the backup camera recall, and all of those vehicles have been repaired. The roof top tent remedy was still under development.

Yes. Chrysler filed two recalls: one for the driver's floor mat installed in 2018 Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk vehicles, and one for Mopar accessory mats sold separately under part numbers 6ML07TRMAA and 6GA92TRMAA. Dealers replace either free.
What should I do about the Wrangler roof top tent with no fix?
The remedy was still under development when the recall began May 9, 2019, so ask the company directly what to do in the meantime. American Fastbacks customer service is 1-844-533-7997 extension 301. Losing the cover at road speed could cause a crash.
Is a missing airbag or tire label worth a dealer visit?
Both are handled largely by mail. Chrysler sends the airbag warning label information and a corrected certification label at no cost; dealers only install labels on unsold vehicles. Until yours arrives, use the owner's manual for correct tire and rim sizes.
