Infiniti QX30 seat belt anchor bolt wrongly installed
high How serious is it? About this label
If the lower seat belt anchorage detaches in a crash, it can increase the risk of injury. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
On some 2018 Infiniti QX30s, the bolt holding the bottom anchor point of the right-hand seat belt may have been installed incorrectly at the factory. That anchor is what keeps the lower end of the belt fastened to the body of the car. In a crash it could pull free, so the belt would not hold the person as it should. Dealers weld in a new retaining plate and fit a new anchor bolt at no cost. Nissan reported all affected vehicles were repaired by July 17, 2018.
What you should do
2. Contact your Infiniti dealer or Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200 to confirm the work was completed on your vehicle.
3. If it has not been done, have the dealer install the new plate and anchor bolt — the repair is free.
