Jeep Grand Cherokee Floor Mat Can Catch Gas Pedal
high How serious is it? About this label
A gas pedal that will not return to idle is a serious hazard that can come without warning; the notice does not tell owners to park the vehicle, but this should be fixed quickly.
What's wrong, in plain English
On some 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk models, the driver's floor mat sits too close to the gas pedal. There is not enough room between the two, so the mat can catch the pedal and keep it from springing all the way back when you lift your foot. If that happens, the engine keeps pulling and the vehicle may not slow down when you expect it to. Dealers will swap the mat for a corrected one for free.
What you should do
2. Contact your Jeep dealer or Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall UB3.
3. Have the floor mat replaced at no charge.
