Honda Clarity rear seat belts may not lock properly
medium How serious is it? About this label
A rear belt that fails to lock could let someone be hurt in a crash, so schedule the repair soon, though the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Certain 2019 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell, Electric, and Plug-in Hybrid cars have rear seat belts with a locking system that senses how fast the belt is pulled. On the affected cars, that locking part may not lock the way it should. If it does not lock, the belt may not hold a back-seat passenger in place during a crash. A dealer checks when the belt assemblies were made and replaces them if needed.
