Which Honda seat belt recalls affect your front, second or third row?
Seven Honda seat belt recalls cluster around the rows behind the driver. Center and third-row belts repeat most: the 2018 Odyssey third-row center tongue may not latch securely, the 2025 Pilot third-row belt can be trapped behind the passenger side panel, and the second-row center automatic locking retractor in 2021 Accord, Accord Hybrid, CR-V and Ridgeline plus 2022 Insight and CR-V Hybrid may deactivate and leave a child seat unsecured. Warning signs to watch for
- A belt tongue that won't click into the buckle, or a buckle that releases too easily
- Third-row belt you can't reach or pull out because it's routed behind a trim panel
- Child seat that stays loose because the center belt won't switch into its locking mode
- Rear belt webbing that doesn't lock when you tug it sharply
- No visible sign at all for the missing pretensioner rivet and the SRS control unit fault — they only matter in a crash
Is it safe to keep driving?
No Honda seat belt recall here comes with a stop-driving or park-outside instruction, so the vehicle itself is fine to use. The limits are about specific seating positions. Don't install a child seat in the second-row center of the affected 2021-2022 models until the belt is replaced, and don't seat anyone in the 2018 Odyssey third-row center or the 2025 Pilot third-row position until the belt is fixed. Common questions
Can I use a child seat in the middle of the second row?
Not in the recalled 2021 Accord, Accord Hybrid, CR-V and Ridgeline or 2022 Insight and CR-V Hybrid. The automatic locking retractor may deactivate improperly, leaving the restraint unsecured. Move the child seat to another position until the belt is replaced.
My belts seem to work fine — do I still need the recall done?
Yes. Several of these defects are invisible day to day. The missing pretensioner rivet on 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V models and the 2019 SRS control unit fault only show up in a crash, when belts or airbags may fail to work.
