Ford F-150 and Super Duty Trucks: Windshield May Detach
medium How serious is it? About this label
In the event of a crash, if the windshield separates from the vehicle, it can increase the risk of injury. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
When these trucks were built, the windshield may not have been glued to the body correctly. If the bond is weak, the windshield can come loose and separate from the truck in a crash, which raises the chance of injury to people inside. The notice says these trucks do not meet the federal safety rule for windshield mounting. A dealer will remove the windshield and reinstall it the right way, at no cost to you.
