38 recalls covering model years 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — a recall may apply only to some vehicles of a given year.
The metal arms that hold the windshield wipers can break. If an arm breaks, that wiper stops sweeping the glass. In heavy rain or snow you could suddenly be left with little or no clear view through the windshield while you are driving. These heavy-duty Ford trucks were repaired under an earlier recall, but that fix was not done correctly. Deposits from biodiesel fuel can build up on moving parts inside the high-pressure fuel pump and cause the pump to fail. If that happens, the truck can lose engine power while you are driving. Dealers will update the engine computer software for free. Your truck needs this even though the earlier recall work was already done.
These Ford and Lincoln trucks and SUVs have a built-in trailer brake controller. On the affected vehicles, that controller can stop communicating with the rest of the vehicle while you are towing. When that happens, the trailer's brake lights and turn signals can go dark, and the trailer's brakes may stop working. That makes the trailer harder to control and makes it harder for drivers behind you to see when you are braking or turning. A free software update fixes it.
The clips that hold the wind deflector to the moonroof frame may not be attached well enough. The deflector is the small screen at the front edge of the moonroof opening that cuts down wind noise. If the clips let go, the deflector can come off the vehicle and land on the road, where it becomes a hazard for you and for drivers behind you. Dealers will inspect it and repair or reattach it as needed, free of charge.
On these F-250, F-350 and F-450 trucks, the 360-degree camera system may fail to show a proper rearview picture in certain lighting. If the image behind the truck does not come up correctly, you cannot see what is back there while backing up, which raises the risk of hitting something or someone. Dealers will update the camera software free of charge. The fix is being released in stages by model year; Ford mailed a first warning letter October 30, 2025.
On certain F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks, the upper shaft in the steering column can come apart from the column itself. If that happens, turning the steering wheel may no longer steer the truck. Dealers will inspect the steering column and repair or replace the upper shaft if it needs it, at no cost to you. Ford mailed owner notification letters on February 20, 2026, and this repair should not be put off.
When you put the vehicle in reverse, the backup camera may show a picture that is upside down, distorted, or completely blank. That leaves you with less of a view behind you, so it is easier to miss a person or an object while backing up. Dealers will inspect the camera and replace it if needed at no cost. Ford is mailing owner letters in phases, starting January 2026 with more going out in June 2026.
On certain 2025-2026 Ford Super Duty trucks — F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 — plus some 2025 F-150s, the instrument cluster can fail to come on when you start the truck. The cluster is the screen and gauges directly in front of the driver. If it does not turn on, you cannot see your speed or any of the warning lights that tell you about a problem. The software fix is free.
On these Ford and Lincoln trucks, SUVs and Mustangs, the low-pressure fuel pump, which is the part that moves gasoline out of the tank, can fail. If it does, the engine can stall and shut off while you are driving. The repair depends on what you own: on Super Duty pickups the dealer replaces the fuel pump itself, and on all the other vehicles the dealer reprograms the engine computer. Either repair is free. Owner letters were mailed July 27, 2026.
On certain 2025 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks, a small spring that holds the brake pedal rod to the brake booster may have been left out at the factory. Without it, the rod can pop off the pedal, and the brakes can quit working with no warning while you drive. Ford says do not drive these trucks until they are repaired. Dealers will inspect and fix the pedal assembly free.

A software error in the module that runs the screen can make the backup camera image lag, freeze, or not appear at all when you put the vehicle in reverse. You could back into something or someone you cannot see. The fix is a software update to that module, done free at a dealer or, on some vehicles, sent to the vehicle over the air. Ford is doing this in phases, so timing depends on your model and year.
The shift lever on the steering column may have a bad weld and can break away from the column. If it comes off, you cannot put the truck in park. A truck that is not truly in park can roll away on its own after you get out. The dealer will check the serial number on your steering column and install a new column if yours is affected, free of charge.
Certain Ford F-150, Maverick, Expedition, F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks and Lincoln Navigator SUVs were fixed incorrectly under an earlier recall, so the problem remains. Because of a software error, the built-in trailer brake controller may fail to apply the brakes on a trailer that uses electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes. The trailer then pushes the vehicle instead of helping it slow down, so stopping takes much longer than normal. That extra stopping distance makes a crash more likely.

These trucks have a diesel engine with a high-pressure pump that pushes fuel to the engine. Deposits left behind by biodiesel fuel can build up on moving parts inside that pump. Over time the buildup wears the parts out and the pump can quit working. If the pump fails, the engine stops making power, so the truck can slow down or stop while you are driving. Dealers will reprogram the truck's computers to ease the strain on the pump.
Water can leak into a small electronic box in the tailgate that handles the backup camera on these Ford Super Duty trucks. When it gets wet, the picture on your dashboard screen may flicker in and out, or turn solid blue or black, when you shift into reverse. Without that picture you can't see what is directly behind the truck. The dealer replaces the camera, the wiring, the module, and updates the software.
Inside the steering column is a coiled ribbon of wire, called a clock spring, that keeps the driver's airbag connected as you turn the steering wheel. On these trucks a weld in that part may not be strong enough, and the electrical connection to the airbag can be lost. If that happens, the airbag in the steering wheel will not go off in a crash. Dealers will inspect the part and replace it if it needs it.
The nuts that hold the front wheel hub extender — the spacer the front wheel bolts onto — may not have been tightened enough. If they work loose, the wheel and the extender can come off the truck while you are driving. That can make you lose control, and a loose wheel in the road is dangerous for other drivers too. Ford says do not drive these trucks until a dealer has checked them.

Certain 2023 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks have a feature called Pro Trailer Hitch Assist that helps you line the truck up with a trailer. When you use that feature, the normal rear camera picture may not appear on the screen the way it should. Without the usual view behind the truck, you can miss a person, another vehicle, or an object back there while you are reversing.
The digital display behind the steering wheel, the screen that shows your speed and warning lights, may have been soldered badly at the factory. Because of that, the display can fail to light up at all. With a dark screen you cannot see how fast you are going or whether a warning light is trying to tell you something, such as a brake or engine problem. That also breaks a federal rule on controls and displays. Dealers will replace the module or the panel free.
The power windows in the driver and front passenger doors have a safety feature that reverses the glass if something is in the way. On these trucks, if the door's electronics briefly lose power and restart while a window is closing, that feature may not notice an object near the top of the opening. The window could keep closing on a hand, arm, or anything else in its path instead of dropping back down.
The owner's manual for these Ford and Lincoln vehicles is missing instructions. It does not explain how to adjust or remove certain head restraints — the padded rests at the top of the seats. Federal rules require those instructions to be included. Without them, an owner may leave a head restraint in the wrong position, which could mean less protection for someone's head and neck in a crash. Ford is mailing a free printed addendum that covers the center seating positions. Nothing on the vehicle itself needs repair.
Bolts that hold the top of the steering column to the rest of the steering system may be missing or may not have been tightened enough at the factory. If those bolts are loose or absent, the steering column can come apart from what it connects to. If that happens while you are driving, the steering wheel stops turning the front wheels and you lose control with no warning. Dealers check the bolts, tighten them, and add any that are missing.
These trucks and cars came with a 360-degree camera system. The anti-glare coating on the rear camera lens can break down over time, which makes the picture on your dashboard screen look foggy or cloudy. When the image is unclear, you cannot see what is behind you as well when backing up, and you could hit something or someone. Dealers will replace the rearview camera at no cost to you.
The safety label on your vehicle is missing the tire size, rim type and correct tire pressure numbers for the front and rear axles. Nothing is actually broken on the vehicle. The problem is that you, a tire shop, or a future owner could fit the wrong size tire or wheel, or inflate the tires to the wrong pressure, because the numbers are not there to check. Dealers put on a correct replacement label.

A software problem in the built-in trailer brake controller means that a trailer hooked up behind your truck or SUV may not brake at all. Trailers with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes rely on this system to slow down with you. If it doesn't work, you're stopping the combined weight of the vehicle and the loaded trailer on your truck's brakes alone, so it takes much longer to stop. A dealer reloads the controller's software to fix it.
These trucks have a 6.7-liter diesel engine. The cap on the secondary fuel filter under the hood may have a tiny void at its top center. Over time that weak spot can turn into a pinhole, letting diesel fuel leak out of the top of the filter. Fuel leaking near anything hot or sparking can start a fire. Dealers will replace both the primary and secondary fuel filters at no charge.
These trucks have dual rear wheels and extenders on the front wheel hubs. The extenders may not have been bolted on correctly, so a front wheel and its extender could come off while you are driving. Ford is telling owners not to drive these trucks until a dealer checks how tight the extender nuts are. The dealer will inspect and tighten them at no charge. Letters went out to owners in June 2021.

The metal bracket that holds the left side of your fifth-wheel trailer hitch to the truck may be cracked. If it gives way while you are pulling a trailer, the hitch can come loose and the trailer can separate from the truck. You cannot tell from the driver's seat whether the bracket is cracked, so a dealer needs to inspect it and install a new bracket if there is a problem.
When these trucks were built, the windshield may not have been glued to the body correctly. If the bond is weak, the windshield can come loose and separate from the truck in a crash, which raises the chance of injury to people inside. The notice says these trucks do not meet the federal safety rule for windshield mounting. A dealer will remove the windshield and reinstall it the right way, at no cost to you.
These Super Duty SuperCrew trucks have carpet flooring and front seat belts with a tightener that fires in a crash to pull the belt snug. When that tightener goes off, it can throw sparks. The sparks can set the carpet or the padding inside the pillar next to the front doors on fire. That means a crash could be followed by a fire inside the truck. A dealer will add heat resistant tape over the carpet and padding and change the pillar insulation.
These trucks have a button in the tailgate handle that releases the tailgate electrically. Water can get into the wiring behind it and cause a short circuit, which acts like someone pressing that button. The tailgate can then drop open by itself, including while you are driving. Anything loose in the bed can slide out onto the road behind you and become a hazard for the drivers following you.
Your truck's daytime running lights — the lights that stay on whenever the truck is running — are supposed to dim when you turn the headlight switch to "On." On these trucks, they may stay at full brightness instead. That breaks a federal lighting rule. Bright, undimmed lights can glare into the eyes of drivers coming toward you or ahead of you, making it harder for them to see. A dealer fixes it with a free software update.
These trucks have an engine block heater, a plug-in cord that warms the engine in cold weather. They were already fixed once under an earlier recall, but that repair may have damaged a connector in the cord. A damaged cord can short out, overheat the wiring and start a fire. Dealers will first disable the block heater so it cannot be used, then replace the cord for free once new parts are available. You will get a second letter when the new cords are ready.
The transmission case in some of these trucks may have been made incorrectly. Because of that, the small locking part inside that holds the truck still when you shift into park may not be secured the way it should be. If it is not held properly, the truck can move on its own even though it is in park. Ford dealers will inspect the transmission case and replace the whole transmission if it is the wrong one, at no cost.
