Tesla Model Y rear seat belt fasteners may be loose
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious for anyone riding in the back: the car drives normally and there is no order to park it, but a rear seat belt may not properly protect a passenger in a crash until it is inspected.
What's wrong, in plain English
On some 2019-2021 Model Y cars, one or both of the bolts holding the second-row seat belt reels to the body may not have been attached properly at the factory. Those reels are what pull the belt tight and hold a passenger in place in a crash. If a bolt is loose or not fastened, the belt may not do its job when it matters. Tesla will check both bolts on the left and right rear belts and replace them if needed.
