Driving without a working speedometer or warning lights makes a crash more likely, so schedule the repair promptly; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving or park outside.

What's wrong, in plain English

Too much glue was used when the dashboard gauge cluster was built, and that extra adhesive can shut off the display screen behind the steering wheel. When it goes dark, you lose your speedometer, fuel and other gauges, and the warning lights that tell you something is wrong with the car. A dealer replaces the whole gauge cluster assembly at no charge to fix it.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022 Palisade vehicles. The instrument cluster assembly may have been manufactured with excessive adhesive, which can disable the instrument cluster display screen.
Safety risk
A disabled display screen will not show critical information, such as the meters, gauges, and warning lights, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the instrument cluster assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 230.
