Losing your wipers in bad weather badly cuts your visibility and raises the risk of a crash, so get this done before winter, though the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Snow or ice piling up on the windshield can put too much strain on the wiper motor. When that happens, the wipers may work only now and then, or stop working completely. If your wipers quit during snow, sleet or rain, you may not be able to see the road ahead clearly. Dealers will replace the wiper arm on the driver's side at no charge, and letters went out to owners in May 2023.

2. Call Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 or your dealer and reference recall 243.
3. Have the driver-side wiper arm replaced — the repair is free.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.
Safety risk

Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.
