Ford and Lincoln vehicles missing dashboard airbag warning label

Without the label showing how restraints should be used, people in the vehicle may face a greater risk of injury in a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Ford is recalling certain Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the Explorer, Escape, F-150, Expedition and the Lincoln Aviator, Corsair and Navigator. The airbag warning label that belongs on the dashboard may be missing. That label shows how seat belts and other restraints should be used. Because the label is missing, these vehicles do not meet the federal safety standard for occupant crash protection. Ford will mail owners the warning labels at no cost. Letters were mailed to owners in December 2024.

1. Check whether your vehicle is included by entering your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
2. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall number 24C39) if you have not received the label in the mail.
3. The label is provided free of charge.

Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, 2020-2024 Escape, Lincoln Corsair, 2018-2024 F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The air bag warning label may be missing from the dashboard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirement Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Safety risk: Without a label that shows the proper restraint usage guidelines, the occupants may have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will mail owners the warning labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2024. Owners may call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C39.
