Lincoln Corsair backup camera image can go blank or distorted

NHTSA campaign 25V510000 · Reported 2025-08-08 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

The risk is moderate and limited to backing up — Ford has not told owners to stop driving, but check your mirrors and look over your shoulder every time you reverse until it is repaired.

What's wrong, in plain English

Water can get into the electrical connectors for the camera that shows what is behind you when you back up. Once water gets in, the camera picture may not come up on the dashboard screen at all, or it may look distorted. Without that picture you can miss a child, a pet, or an object behind the vehicle while reversing. Dealers replace the camera and the wiring harness that plugs into it, at no charge.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Corsair is included.
2. Contact a Lincoln or Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and mention recall 25S83.
3. Have the camera and harness replaced — the repair is free.
