Honda Africa Twin horn and high beam may fail
medium How serious is it? About this label
Moderately serious — losing your horn or high beam makes it harder to warn other drivers and to see far ahead at night, which raises crash risk, but the notice does not tell riders to stop riding.
What's wrong, in plain English
The wiring inside the left handlebar switch on these motorcycles can corrode — the metal rusts and stops carrying electricity properly. When that happens, the horn may quit working, or you may not be able to flip the headlight from low beam to high beam. Honda says the motorcycle no longer meets the federal rule covering lights and related equipment. A dealer will replace the entire left handlebar switch unit at no cost.
