Ford Taurus door pillar trim can fall off
medium How serious is it? About this label
The notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but detached trim can create a road hazard that raises the risk of a crash, so get it fixed promptly.
What's wrong, in plain English
The plastic trim panels that cover the posts between the front and rear doors, on both the driver and passenger sides, can come loose and fly off while you are driving. A piece of trim lying in the roadway becomes an obstacle for the cars behind you, and drivers who brake or swerve suddenly to avoid it can crash. Ford dealers will repair or replace the trim, and owner letters went out on February 20, 2026.
