Losing steering control is extremely dangerous and can happen without warning, so have this checked right away, though the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks, the upper shaft in the steering column can come apart from the column itself. If that happens, turning the steering wheel may no longer steer the truck. Dealers will inspect the steering column and repair or replace the upper shaft if it needs it, at no cost to you. Ford mailed owner notification letters on February 20, 2026, and this repair should not be put off.

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — these VINs became searchable September 23, 2025. 2. Call your Ford dealer and schedule the steering column inspection using Ford recall number 25S94. 3. Have the free repair completed; Ford customer service is at 1-866-436-7332.
