Kia Telluride and Sorento have wrong spare tire
medium How serious is it? About this label
The problem only shows up if the spare is actually mounted, but brakes and traction control that misbehave can cause a crash, so replace the spare before you ever need it; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Kia is recalling certain 2025 Telluride and 2026 Sorento SUVs that were built with the wrong spare tire. If you put that spare on the vehicle, it can interfere with the anti-lock brakes and the traction control, so those systems may not work properly. That makes it harder to stop or hold the road, raising your crash risk. The vehicles also do not meet the federal rule for tires and wheels. Dealers will swap in the correct spare wheel and tire.
