Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Power Relay Can Overheat and Catch Fire critical

Reported 2022-06-28 · Campaign 22V459000 · Model years: 2018

Under the back seat of your Ioniq there is an electrical part that switches the battery power on and off. In these cars it can get too hot. If it overheats, it can start a fire. This is a do-over of an earlier recall (18V-704) — even if your car was already repaired under that one, it still needs the new fix. The dealer will check the part and replace it if necessary.

Hyundai Elantra and Ioniq Hybrid rear wheel may fall off critical

Reported 2019-10-09 · Campaign 19V720000 · Model years: 2019

The lug nuts holding the right rear wheel onto certain Ioniq Hybrid and Elantra cars may not have been tightened enough when the cars were built. Nuts that are too loose can gradually back off, and the wheel can come off the car while you are driving. A dealer will look at that wheel's lug nuts and tighten them if they need it. The inspection is quick and there is no charge to you.

Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid relay can overheat rear seat, fire risk critical

Reported 2018-10-05 · Campaign 18V704000 · Model years: 2018

A switch in the high-voltage electrical box under the rear seat may not make solid contact inside. A poor connection makes the part fight the flow of electricity, and that builds heat. The box sits right under the back seat, so that heat can build up there and start a fire. Hyundai dealers will open up the relay assembly and look for damage. If there is none, they replace the main switch; if there is damage, they replace the whole assembly.
