The large battery that powers your EQB can fail inside and start a fire, either while you drive or while the car sits parked. Mercedes wants these cars parked outdoors, away from houses and other buildings, and charged only to 80 percent until the work is done. Dealers will fit a new battery free. This replaces two earlier recalls, so even if your EQB was already repaired under one of those, it needs this new fix too.

The big battery that drives your EQB can fail inside and start a fire, whether the car is parked or moving. Until it is fixed, Mercedes says to charge the battery no higher than 80 percent, and this recall carries a park-outside warning. The dealer will update the battery's control software free of charge. If your EQB was already repaired under the earlier recall 25V050, it has to be done again.

The big battery that drives your EQB has a metal connector bar inside it. On these vehicles that bar may have been fastened with the wrong screws. If the connection fails, the vehicle can suddenly stop pulling — losing drive power with no warning, even in traffic. Mercedes-Benz is telling owners to park outside until the repair is finished. A dealer will check the high-voltage battery and replace it if needed. Notification letters went out January 9, 2026.

The big battery in your electric EQB can break down internally, and that can lead to a fire while the car is parked or being driven. As a temporary precaution, Mercedes tells owners to charge only up to 80 percent of a full battery. The actual repair is a free software update for the system that manages the battery, done at the dealer. Letters went out in three batches between May and December 2025.

A welded gear inside the front electric drive unit may not have been welded correctly. If that gear breaks, the vehicle can roll away on its own even when you think it is parked and secure. Because of this, the vehicle does not meet the federal safety rule covering theft protection and rollaway. Dealers will replace the entire front electric drive unit at no cost to you.
