What's wrong, in plain English

The big battery that drives your EQB can fail inside and start a fire, whether the car is parked or moving. Until it is fixed, Mercedes says to charge the battery no higher than 80 percent, and this recall carries a park-outside warning. The dealer will update the battery's control software free of charge. If your EQB was already repaired under the earlier recall 25V050, it has to be done again.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (these VINs are searchable from December 23, 2025).
2. Set your charge limit to 80 percent and follow the park-outside warning until the repair is complete.
3. Contact a Mercedes-Benz dealer or MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 (recall 2025120005) for the free software update — even if you already had recall 25V050 done.

Summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2023 EQB 250, 2022-2023 EQB 300 4MATIC, and EQB 350 4MATIC vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Safety risk
A vehicle fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
Owners are advised to only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the repair has been completed. Vehicles previously repaired under Recall 25V050 will need to be repaired again. Dealers will update the battery management system software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 6, 2026. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025120005. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 23, 2025.
